Syndicate 386 is the leading non-marine liability syndicate in the Lloyd's of London Insurance market. Headed by David Constable, the syndicate underwrites via Lloyd's and a network of regional offices.
Syndicate 386/683 was established in 1974 with a capacity less than £ 2m, with Michael Payne as the active underwriter and managed by Janson Green limited. By 1989 the capacity had reached £ 104.5m and by the end of year 2000 it was extended to £ 212m. During the year of 2000 it was purchased by QBE Insurance Group.
It is rated as ‘5’ (very low dependency) by Standard & Poor’s-Lloyd’s Syndicate Assesment (LSA).
